When I first decided I would play a druid, I felt that it would be most fun and efficient to split my two feral specs (see here for information about dual specilization) between feral(tank) and feral(dps). While re-arranging certain points in the feral line would prove to maximize both my cat and bear forms in respective situations, I quickly found how boring it was to switch between two similar setups. So I decided "Hey, i'm going to go Balance as my second spec!" I came up with a feral spec that does not diminish in any way my tanking abilities but still allows me to dps as a cat in both solo and heroic dungeons. (You do not want to, under any circumstances, raid as a dps with this spec.)

So, if you want diversity in your druid, to be able to tank and heal/caster dps, This build will definitely allow you to tank while still allowing yourself the comfort of running around as a kitty.

Master Shapeshifter is hardluy a necessary talent, so you can free up 5 points by losing that and Natural Shapeshifter, which can much more usefully be used in infected Wounds, Imp Mangle and Primal Gore. Also predatory instincts only affects Cat form, thus, useless.
ReplyDeleteI'm afraid you misunderstood my post, mate. This is a combo spec to be used for tanking and solocat play. This is not a full bear spec. In regards to master shapeshifter, im afraid we'll have agree to disagree. :)
ReplyDeleteAh right, to be honest I more or less skimmed over the text and went to analysing the spec. And ironically I'm specced into Master Shapeshifter in one of my specs at the moment, but only because I shuffled some points after speccing out of Imp LotP for heroic Anub 25.
ReplyDeleteFor my other spec however, Primal Gore and Improved Mangle are a must, and a far better TPS increase than 4% more damage.
Could you link directly to wowhead or other talent calculator with your spec, rather than just an image? Thanks.
